Wynter is almost completely blind and severely hearing impaired. We adopted Wynter from the same amazing rescue we adopted our first Double Merle Australian Shepherd from, Australian Shepherds Furever. Wynter was saved by 2 very special women just before the breeder was going to put her down simply because she was a Double Merle. I can't imagine being cruel enough to put an innocent 6 week old puppy down just because she couldn't see or hear perfectly.
The women that saved her then got in contact with ASF and they took her into foster care until she was 10 weeks old, this is when we got to bring our new little bundle of joy home. We haven't had Wynter long but she has already completed our family and brought us so much joy! Wynter and our first DM Izzy who is completely deaf and blind are best friends. Izzy & Wynter are so much fun to watch as they play, eat and even sleep together. We thought they would have to go through an adjustment period when we first brought Wynter home but that's not what happened at all. They have been inseparable since day one and we wouldn't want it any other way.
Now Izzy and Wynter are taking on the world together and helping to raise awareness about Double Merles and advocating for dogs like them still waiting for their forever homes.
