My white Pomeranian Noelle died after seven years of being my constant companion and left a incredible void in my life. I was on Petfinder immediately looking for someone to try and fill that void. I looked at a lot of little light colored Pomeranians but was afraid it would remind me too much of Noelle, so I decided to look at older female Chihuahuas. When I did a search for Chihuahuas, Keeber's picture came up. He was a one-year-old male, but I fell in love instantly when I saw his picture. I had Lottie Moon so I was very familiar with double merles, and I read his description to see if he was deaf. He was, and I knew that he had to be my dog. This was all within a day or two after Noelle's passing, so I called the shelter and spoke to them about him, but I felt I was trying to rush things and decided that I would give myself another week or so before I committed to a new dog.
After about a week, I went back to Petfinders to look at his picture, and it was gone! I was devastated! In somewhat of a panic, I called the shelter to inquire if he was still available. They were kind of cagey at first, and I couldn't figure out what was going on, but finally after being transferred to three different people, the woman on the phone asked me what my name was. When I told her she said "oh yes he is still available, we were hoping you would call back." I drove out that day to get him!
